Active safety advances from the driver's perspective.

Honda's new active safety measures are immediately apparent from the first moments behind the wheel. The driver can take confidence in wider front visibility and ever-greater cockpit comfort. While the dashboard height is maintained for a sense of protective shielding, there's a relaxing new sense of openness, with unobstructed visibility thanks to flat, lower placement of wipers. The front pillars have been narrowed in design yet enhanced for even greater rigidity, providing improved front-to-side visibility for easier cornering. Enlarged in size yet exceptionally agile, the new Accord is further protected by ABS and VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), offering exemplary ability to help the driver avoid hazadous motoring conditions. All these measures ease driving tension and help the driver concentrate on the sheer pleasure of going places in the new Accord.

Passive safety innovation for mutual survival.

Honda starts with an advanced monocoque body structure designed for outstanding all-direction shielding in a collision, with multiple load-pass frame that effectively disperse and absorb collision impact from all directions. G-force Control technology crumples the car body in a controlled manner and helps ensures lower impact on occupants within a sturdy survival zone. In the event of the unfortunate occurence of an accident, the Accord's self-protective performance extends to other vehicles regardless of size. Equipped with a shock-absorbing structure in the frontal section of its body, including the hood, wiper pivots, and windshield base, the new Accord successfully reduces collision damage to its own structure as well as pedestrian injury. Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates dual SRS airbags, front side airbags, and new-generation slide curtain airbags. Front 3-point
ELT seatbelt with conventional load limiter and pretensioner functions are enhanced with a lap pretensioner function for further protection, and an Active Head Restraint System supports prevention of neck injuries in the event of a collision from the rear. This comprehensive approach to passive protection for mutual survival reflects Honda's fundamental emphasis on the shared well-being of all motorists.
