Innovation to uniting sporty exhilaration and fuel efficiency.

Building on the Accord's worldwide reputation for matches driving performance, the new larger Accord combines even more powerful driving with sporty excitement. Ingenious Honda V-TEC technology for continious control of both valve timing and lift is equipped on three intelligent engines: 2.4-litres DOHC i-VTEC, 2.0-litres SOHC i-VTEC, and 3.5-litres V6 i-VTEC VCM(new Variable Cyclinder Management), designed for higher energy, lower fuel consumption, and among the lowest exhaust emissions in the world. Computer-controlled Drive By Wire (DBW) provides optimum control of engine power output and torque in response to the amount of acceleration pedal action. This achieves smooth, powerful acceleration, giving the driver an exhilarating feeling of virtually unlimited power on demand.

Expansive sense of comfort in powerful, precise driving.

The enlarged Accord offers unrivaled "class-above" command of the road. It has a highly rigid, sturdly lightweight body, utilising high-tensile steel materials. This is optimised for superb driving stability, riding comfort, quitenes , and collision safety, as well as sporty yet economical performance. Double wishborne suspension, a frequent choice in sports cars, is used in front, with multi-link suspension in the rear, assuring unchanged excellence in driving stability plus riding comfort. Front and rear roll centres are moved closer to the level of a lower centre of gravity, for reduced roll in cornering.

The new Accord takes full advantage of the Variable Gear Ratio(VGR) steering system, which responds faithfully of the driver's intentions. This is why, despite its larger dimensions, the new Accord achieves superb manoeuvrability with a smaller turning radius and sporty, accurate steering. Additionaly, Shift Hold Control reduces unnecessary gear shift-up in cornering and supplies acceleration immediately after making a turn. And a paddle shift system allows the driver to change gears manually without removing hands from the wheel.

The acclaimed global car supplies a tranquil cabin envirnment that is the hallmark of a preeminent luxury sedan. In addition to engine advances for quieter running, both the rear floating subframe and thicker front side window glass shut out road noise, contributing to exceptional quietness. Drivers and passengers alike can enjoy the new Accord's unequalled serenity, as well as its dynamic performance and graceful riding feel, enhanced for new sporty driving precision.

Expertise in fuel efficiency

The new Accord's innovative i-VTEC engines continuously control both valve timing and lift. These powerplants achieve improved fuel efficiency with increased power and excellent clean-air performance while meeting Europe's stringent EURO-IV emission control standards.*

Honda Strikes a balance between a high power and low fuel consumption .

V6 i-VTEC engine with newly developed
Variable Cyclinder Management (VCM)

This revolutionary 3.5-litre engine actually achieves exhilarating sporty performance without high fuel consumption. In addition to efficient i-VEC engineering, Honda's new VCM system further enhances fuel economy and limits unnecessary fuel use by partially halting and action of some cyclinder through freely controlled engine displacement. Active control engine mounting cancels out annoying engine vibration, and active noise control system ensures silence in the cabin by producing a noise cancelling tone from the speaker and reducing the muffled engine sound streaming from unused cylinders.

Dedication to eco-performance

This remarkable new vehicle also contributes to environment protection through application of greener materials and a higher recycling rate. Use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and such hazadous materials as lead and hexavalent chromium is reduced, and application of eco-friendly easy-to-recycle olefin-based parts is increased.
