Driving experience

2.0-litre i-VTEC
We see the racetrack as a place where you can truly push ideas to the limit - a place where we can test our imaginations as much as our engine. So meet the 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine – directly inspired by our success in Formula One. It’s an explosive piece of machinery that echoes our F1 engine at 8,000rpm when it smoothly delivers maximum power. No turbo charger means absolutely no lag, giving faster acceleration in all gears. Thanks to the unique i-VTEC meter on the dash you’ll know exactly when i-VTEC kicks in – 5,200rpm – earlier than any previous Type R, allowing it to be more responsive at lower rpm. The double overhead cam lets the engine breathe easier ensuring you get the maximum power from the engine. Now you can breathe.
